Aged 15-17? Dive into history this July with work experience at The Box

We’re pleased to share that The Box Plymouth have six, one-week work experience placements this July for young people aged 15-17 who are either studying in years 10 and 12 or who are in this age group but currently seeking opportunities for jobs, training or education.

You can choose one of two weeks. Week one will run from Monday 4 to Friday 8 July, 9.15am-3pm and the two placements will focus on collections-based services. Week two will run from Monday 11 to Friday 15 July, 9.15am-3pm and the four placements will focus on visitor-facing services.

Both weeks will start and finish with personal and professional development sessions aimed to help young people with CV and application-writing skills, asking them to reflect on their experiences and apply them to their future pathways.

These placements are available to anyone aged 15-17, in or out of education/training and will suit young people who may not yet have decided what their next steps will be, just as much as those who would like to get into the heritage or cultural industries.

We’re looking for applications from all communities from Tuesday 10 May until 4pm on Tuesday 24 May with placements being allocated on 1 June.
