Rosie has been working with our Youth Hub team and her Work Coach Debbie very closely over the past year. We have seen her embrace several opportunities with us, from construction site visits, attending Building Plymouth Job Shops, visiting the Military Preparation Training College for a tour, interviews with Argyle Community Trust, and taking on and successfully completing a Traineeship at Boringdon Hall Hotel to name but a few.
With a completely open mind and attitude, Rosie has been willing to try new things, and consider all industries and job prospects that have been shared with her - and is now enrolled on a full-time course at City College Plymouth to work towards progressing onto an Apprenticeship.
Most recently, Rosie was a finalist in our Skills Launched Awards, and won our Star Recognition Award!
She was nominated as we believed that she was someone who could not go uncelebrated. As a stand-out member, Rosie has faced a number of challenges and barriers, but has also shown a willingness to give every opportunity a try!
Here is what Rosie shared:
“Since working with the Youth Hub, I've had the confidence to be able to push myself further than what I could have before.”
“Although I have tried a lot of things, I know that it is bricklaying that I want to do as a career”
