The team at City College Plymouth are celebrating after being re-accredited to the matrix Standard, which recognises high-quality, independent information, advice and guidance provided by a range of organisations.
Designed to help organisations improve their services, the matrix Standard is a framework of best practice for providers that offer information, advice and guidance about careers, education and life goals. If providers meet all of the criteria, they can display the internationally recognised matrix quality mark.
In order to receive the renewed accreditation, the College underwent a rigorous assessment process that not only looks at the quality of the advice and guidance provided to students, but also takes into account the results achieved by the service.
Sarah Sinclair, Careers Manager at City College, said: “After such a thorough inspection process, it is fantastic news that the information, advice and guidance offered at the College for every stage of an individual's journey, from enquiry to completion, meets the standard required to be awarded the matrix accreditation.
Our dedicated teams of professionals have clearly shown the level of support offered to potential and current students to achieve this.”
In the report, the independent assessor wrote: “The expertise and enthusiasm of the City College Plymouth careers staff was evident throughout the matrix Accreditation Review and demonstrated a strong sense of purpose and focus on student success.”
Another strength reported by the assessor was the extensive partnerships working which provides a variety of support mechanisms. The strength of personal professional relationships ensure partnerships with other organisations adds to the capacity and reach of the College’s careers team.
