It’s National Apprenticeship Week! At Skills Launchpad Plymouth, there’s always something going on to help you take the next step, whether that’s learning new skills or making a change. To save you scrolling through lots of posts, we’ve put together a clear overview of what’s happening and when.
Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm
Youth Hub appointments (for those aged 16 to 24)
Our friendly Youth Hub Coordinators will be joined by DWP Work Coaches every day to offer young people pre-booked appointments to discuss their options for skills, training, education, careers and jobs here in Plymouth.
They will also be joined on Tuesday by Charlotte from the Virtual School who is offering dedicated support to care leavers, and Hollie from The King's Trust on Wednesday and Friday to explore the latest programmes around hair and beauty, Teams, Enterprise.
Monday (open to anyone 16+), 10am to 3pm
Caring Plymouth Drop-in Session
Mondays are our dedicated day for anyone interested in opportunities within the health and social care or childcare sectors. Drop in to meet with Dan and explore apprenticeships, alternative entry routes, and current vacancies across the city, as well as the latest skills and training opportunities available.
Tuesday (open to anyone 16+), 10am to 3pm
Building Plymouth Drop-in Session
Tuesdays are focused on supporting those interested in working in the construction and built environment sectors. Pop in and chat with our coordinator, Gareth, about how to gain the skills and qualifications needed for a career in construction, as well as the latest live vacancies—including apprenticeships.
This Tuesday, as part of National Apprenticeship Week, Skills Group will be joining our Building Plymouth team to discuss the range of construction training and apprenticeship opportunities they offer. They’ll also be on hand to explore apprenticeships and other entry routes into construction and the built environment — including live vacancies in bricklaying, building services, and carpentry.
Aged 19+? Ian from the National Careers Service is also available on Tuesdays providing pre-booked appointments for help with developing CVs, cover letters, and general careers advice.
Wednesday and Thursday (open to anyone 16+), 10am to 2pm
Youth Hub application support appointments for 16 to 24-year-olds
Our Youth Hub is offering one-hour appointments to support you with CVs, application forms, and interview preparation for apprenticeship opportunities. These sessions are available to all Youth Hub members who would like guidance with their applications or interview skills.

Welcoming Plymouth Drop-in Session
Fridays are our dedicated day for anyone interested in opportunities within Plymouth’s visitor economy sectors — hospitality, retail, and tourism. Drop in to meet with Rhianne and explore apprenticeships, alternative entry routes, and current vacancies across the city’s hospitality, retail, and tourism sectors.
