Did you know that part of DBS Music in Plymouth is the Access Creative College?! This week we met with Teagan who explained their creative offer..
From taster days for 14 to 16-year-olds to try out the facilities, to full-time courses for those aged 16+ including Rock School Limited and BTEC qualifications their small centre has a great offer.
If you've ever wondered how to get into sound engineering, or fancied working behind the scenes in theatres or as a DJ or Producer, the Rock School Limited qualification in Music Production (available at Level 2 and 3) could be a great starting point. If you are more of a performer, who loves being on stage in the spotlight, the Music Performance qualification is for you.
Access Creative College music students benefit from learning in state-of-the-art facilities in the city centre, and have lots of opportunities to attend gigs and festivals to gain industry experience.
If you're aged 19+, that's no problem, if you are passionate about music and looking to upskill, there's an Access to HE qualification that can support you.
As well as the music side of things, the Access Creative team also run a BTEC Level 3 in E-Sports. It runs from their new gaming labs in partnerships with Fanatics over just three days a week from 10am (so you still get a lie in). To take part you just need four GCSEs at grade four and above including English and maths. This is a great course for those with a business mentality, as many of their alumni have moved on to business degrees at university following completion of the course.
