Thursday at the Youth Hub

On Thursday 4 July between 12-3pm, drop into the Youth Hub on the first floor of Barclays in the city centre to join our Youth Hub Coordinator Rhianne and this week's guests from Plymouth Argyle Community Trust and City College Plymouth.


Plymouth Argyle Community Trust has lots of great opportunities for young people, ranging from apprenticeships and traineeships to their pre-employability programmes such as the SCORE project


SCORE, is a programme that is open to anyone aged 16 and over that's looking to build confidence and develop employability skills. This programme is completely free and covers:

· emotional Intelligence

· resilience

· confidence building

· being the best you can be

· mental health awareness

· CV/cover letter writing

· interview skills

· applying for jobs.


There's also great perks to joining the programme such as:

· getting a free Argyle branded t-shirt

· free Argyle branded bag and stationery

· gaining a Level 1 Award in Behaviours, Attitudes and Attributes Required for Employment

· a free visit to Dartmoor Zoo

· a reduced membership fee to join Brickfields Sports Centre for two months.


City College Plymouth is also joining us this Thursday and can offer advice on getting into education, whether you are thinking about your next steps after your results or are thinking of returning to learning. They are one of the leading providers of vocational, professional and technical training in the South West and can offer you:

  • tutors that have real experience in the industry they’re teaching

  • nationally recognised qualifications

  • hands-on experience

  • great facilities, from our multi-million-pound Regional Centre of Excellence for STEM, to a day spa and restaurant

They are also the city's only provider of T Levels, which are brand-new qualifications that incorporate classroom learning with work placements, ensuring students are fully prepared for either university or employment.
