This week at the Adult Hub

This week at Skills Launchpad we have some great opportunities on offer for anyone aged 25 and over!

Coffee and Careers

Every Monday you can drop into the first floor of Barclays, where our dedicated coordinators are on hand to offer you information, advice and guidance, whether you are looking for work, wanting to improve your CV, identify all those transferable skills or have a chat about your career options.

This week, between 10am-12noon we have Ashley from On Course South West with us to provide information on the SMART skills workshops, offering a wide range of FREE courses to help you achieve your goals which are flexible to your needs.

Between 12-3pm we will also have Sean from CSW – Smart Skills will also be joining us to offer guidance on courses and qualifications you can gain if you’re wanting to upskill and can support you if you’re employed at no cost to your employer.

If you’re a budding entrepreneur or have a burning business idea and want some FREE advice and guidance, Luke from OUTSET will also be with us between 12-3pm to share his expertise. Why not pop in and have a chat with him about what support there is available to you?!

No need to book. Just drop in!

Military Tuesday and Adult Hub Drop-ins

Each Tuesday we hold a dedicated drop-in session for military service leavers, veterans and their families, where you can drop in and speak to a dedicated coordinator who can provide you with support, guidance and information on skills, training, jobs and careers. Each week we have various organisations that are dedicated to working with the military and those making the transition into civilian life.

Each week there is a representative from RFEA - The Forces employment charity providing life-long, support, jobs and training opportunities to service leavers, reservists, veterans and their families, irrespective of circumstances, rank, length of service, or reason for leaving

This week we also have Andrew from the University of Plymouth joining us. Andrew is a lecturer at the University and is championing service leavers and veterans who may be unsure if they have the qualifications or skills to go into Higher Education. He is on hand to offer guidance and support and to talk to you about courses and your existing lived experiences that can transfer into uni life. Andrew is ex-Army and has a good understanding of military life.

The University sessions are open to all, and Andrew will happily support anyone seeking guidance and will also be on hand to support with writing an academic CV.

If you have any questions about any of our Adult Hub sessions, please contact Emma on 07917 264736 or email skillslaunchpad@plymouth.gov.uk
