Last week we were joined by Craig from Groundwork South's Empowering Enterprise and Avani from the Real Ideas Organisation's Green Thinkers programmes to champion opportunities for 18 to 24-year-olds to develop skills through practical activities.
Green Thinkers
The Green Thinkers programme offers six weeks of working in green spaces, gaining industry insight and developing the skills needed to secure a job. Taking just two days a week, on Monday and Tuesday from 10am-3pm, those taking part will have the chance to learn how to care for Plymouth's green spaces in parks and gardens, growing trees, plants and flowers; creating new green spaces for future generations and getting members of the community interested. What a great way to 'grow' your skills?!
Empowering Enterprise
Through this programme, Craig offers bespoke bushcraft and mentoring sessions which are based on a mixture of outdoor activities and 1:1 conversations. Through this, Craig can support with health and wellbeing, life skills including finances and budging careers advice and job searching support, as well as the chance to take part in social action projects. If you are looking to build self-esteem and confidence, and prepare for future employment or training, this could be a great opportunity for you.
