Meet Jess. Jess was working full-time for a local hotel and restaurant when she approached Skills Launchpad Plymouth for help planning her next steps. Jess had an inkling that she wanted to do an apprenticeship but needed support to find the right fit for progression and overall skills development.
Having left school during the pandemic, Jess was unsure of what was out there and how to apply for vacancies. Fortunately, her 1:1 session with Jo at the Youth Hub enabled Jess to navigate her options and helped her turn her inkling into a goal.
We are delighted to report that Jess has now secured an apprenticeship as a Business Administrator with a local company.
We caught up with Jess about her experience and she said she found Skills Launchpad Plymouth friendly, very supportive and all-around amazing: "It was so helpful!" Instead of feeling confused about all the different pathways, Jess now says that she feels confident and happy about her future.
