Following the success of our previous Armed Forces insight sessions, we are pleased to announce our next sector-focused opportunity – this time offering a behind-the-scenes look into careers within the construction industry.
This bespoke event is designed to support military service leavers and working-age veterans who are exploring their next steps after life in HM Armed Forces. Hosted in partnership with Building Plymouth and local firm Devon Contractors, the session will be led by a former Royal Marine who now works as the company’s Health and Safety Manager.
Attendees will gain valuable insight into the wide range of roles available in the construction sector and learn how their transferable skills and experience can align with industry needs. You’ll hear directly from veterans now working in well-paid positions across the company, and have the opportunity to ask questions and explore the various pathways into employment.
As part of the session, there will also be a have-a-go bricklaying activity offering a hands-on introduction to one of the core construction trades.
This is a great opportunity for anyone considering a career in construction to understand the reality of the work, make local connections, and explore how the industry can offer a meaningful next chapter after military service.
