Welcome to the Youth Hub

Plymouth needs your talent and potential

Deciding what to do next isn't always easy. Whether you're leaving education, looking for your first job, considering your future options, or simply feeling unsure about your next step, you're not alone.

Many 16 to 24-year-olds come to us because they're feeling stuck. The good news is that Plymouth is full of opportunities, with employers, training providers, colleges, universities and support organisations all working together to help young people succeed.

We believe every young person has potential. Sometimes all it takes is the right opportunity, at the right time, to build confidence, develop skills and discover what's possible.

One opportunity can make all the difference - and we're here to help you find it.

What can the Youth Hub offer you?

If you are aged 16 to 24 and living in Plymouth or the surrounding area, you can access free information, advice, resources, events and opportunities through Skills Launchpad Plymouth. Our website and events programme are open to all young people, helping you explore your options, build your skills and connect with opportunities across the city.

As part of Plymouth's network of Youth Hubs*, our Youth Hub Coordinators can also provide dedicated one-to-one support for eligible young people, primarily those claiming Universal Credit, helping them overcome barriers and take their next step into education, training or employment.

We can help you with:

  • exploring your education, training and career options

  • CV writing, interview preparation and job searching

  • understanding local job opportunities and growth sectors

  • finding apprenticeships, traineeships, jobs and further learning opportunities

  • developing a career and skills plan that works for you

  • building confidence and becoming work-ready

  • improving essential skills, including maths, English and digital skills

  • accessing local careers events and meeting employers

  • connecting with local employers and opportunities

  • matching your skills, interests and ambitions to real education, training and employment opportunities

If you need extra support before taking your next step, we can also help you access mental health and wellbeing support, and money and housing guidance, to help you move forward with confidence.

We are also happy to support parents and carers who want to help a young person explore their options, understand the opportunities available and plan for a successful future.

Ready to take the next step? Visit our News and Events page for the latest careers events, training opportunities, employer activities and workshops available through Skills Launchpad Plymouth and our partners. New opportunities are added regularly, so check back often to see what's coming up and how you can get involved.

*Please note, subject to eligibility your 1:1 support may be provided by the Youth Hub team at Argyle Community Trust.
