Volunteer with Millfields Inspired this summer!

Millfields Inspired is a dedicated local charity founded and supported by the Millfields Trust—an established and respected social enterprise in the Stonehouse neighbourhood.

“Together we wish to see our children achieve their potential; to support local businesses to succeed; to work with our local community to improve the local natural and built environment; and to play our part in ensuring that Stonehouse is a vibrant place which people are proud of”.

This summer, the charity is inviting enthusiastic volunteers to get involved in two much‑loved community events that help bring families together and enrich the local area.

Volunteering opportunities for 2026:

Teddy Bears’ Picnic

📅 Wednesday 20 May

🕙 10am to 1.30pm

📍 Foulston Hub, Madden Road, Devonport

Millfields Inspired is looking for around five trustworthy volunteers to read stories to children during this fun and family‑friendly event. It’s a warm, relaxed opportunity to support early literacy and connect with the community.

World Ocean Day Event

📅 Tuesday 9 June

🕞 3.30pm to 5.30pm

📍 Firestone Bay

To celebrate World Ocean Day, the charity needs four volunteers to help guide children and families to the beach, read with them, and chat about the importance of our ocean environment. If you’re passionate about nature and community engagement, this is a great way to get involved.
