Thinking about starting your own business but not sure where to begin? You’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. The King’s Trust offers a free Enterprise programme designed to help young people turn their ideas into a reality.

Whether you’re in the early stages of planning or already testing an idea, this programme provides the guidance, tools, and confidence you need.

What can you expect?

The Enterprise programme is designed to support you at every step of your journey. From learning the basics to launching your business, you’ll have access to:

• Expert-led workshops on finance, marketing, business planning, sales, and more

• Test My Business Idea grant opportunities of up to £500

• One-to-one support as you develop your business plan and prepare to launch

• Opportunities to apply for Start Up Grant and Start Up Loan funding

• Networking with like-minded people on their own business journey

• Cashflow and business plan templates, plus other useful tools and resources

• Up to three years of support from an experienced business mentor after launch

  
  

The Enterprise programme could be a great fit if you:

• Have a business idea you’d like to develop within the next year

• Have thought about the pros and cons of starting a business and feel ready to take that step

• Are motivated and able to commit time to workshops, meetings, and independent work on your business plan. Workshops and meetings typically take place between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

  
  

Eligibility criteria:

To take part, you’ll need to:

• Be aged 18 to 30

• Have the right to work in the UK and plan to run your business here

• Own—or plan to own—at least 50% of the business

• If you’ve already started, your business must have been trading for less than one year
