At Skills Launchpad Plymouth, we’re always working on ways to support your next step, whether that’s building new skills or exploring a change in direction. To make things easy, we’ve pulled together a simple overview of what’s coming up and when.
Monday (open to anyone 16+), 10am to 3pm
Caring Plymouth Drop-in Session
Mondays are our dedicated day for anyone interested in opportunities within the health and social care and childcare sectors. Drop in to meet Dan and explore current vacancies across the city, along with the latest skills and training opportunities available.
Tuesday (open to anyone 16+), 10am to 3pm
Building Plymouth Drop-in Session
Tuesdays are focused on supporting those interested in working in the construction and built environment sectors. Pop in and chat with our coordinator, Gareth, about how to gain the skills and qualifications needed for a career in construction, as well as the latest live vacancies—including apprenticeships.
This Tuesday, Clarion Futures will be joining our Building Plymouth team to support you in taking the next step towards employment, training, or personal development. The session will offer practical advice, tailored guidance, and access to a range of new opportunities. You’ll have the chance to receive support with CVs and job applications, prepare for interviews, boost your confidence, and learn about local courses and skills development opportunities.
Aged 19+? Ian from the National Careers Service is also available on Tuesdays providing pre-booked appointments for help with developing CVs, cover letters, and general careers advice.

Youth Hub appointments (for those aged 16 to 24)
Our friendly Youth Hub Coordinators are joined by DWP Work Coaches to offer young people pre-booked appointments to discuss their options for skills, training, education, careers and jobs here in Plymouth. To book an appointment, please sign up here.
They will also be joined on Tuesday by Charlotte from the Virtual School who is offering dedicated support to care leavers, and Poppy from The King's Trust on Wednesday and Friday to explore the latest programmes around hair and beauty, Teams, Enterprise.

Welcoming Plymouth Drop-in Session
Thursdays are dedicated to our Connect to Work drop‑in sessions for people aged 18+. If you’re looking for friendly, local support to help you move closer to employment, Connect to Work is a free programme for Plymouth residents who may face additional challenges such as disability, health conditions (including mental health), or neurodiversity.
We also run community drop‑in sessions throughout the week, offering ongoing support in a relaxed and welcoming environment. To find out more, click here.

Welcoming Plymouth Drop-in Session
Fridays are our dedicated day for anyone interested in opportunities in Plymouth's visitor economy sectors – tourism, hospitality and retail. Drop in to meet with Rhianne to explore current vacancies in the city, as well as the latest skills and training available.

Greenlight Safety and Training Construction Apprenticeship Open Day – Saturday 13 June
Greenlight Safety and Training is opening its doors this June for a Construction Apprenticeship Open Day, offering prospective learners the chance to explore a future career in the construction industry.
Designed for those considering an apprenticeship pathway, the event gives visitors the opportunity to get hands-on with a range of practical construction activities. Visitors can try out different trades for free, gaining a real insight into the skills involved and the training available.
The open day also provides valuable opportunities to connect with industry experts and careers advisors, who will be on hand to offer guidance and discuss the next steps for anyone interested in starting or developing their career in construction.

Building Plymouth jobs and training drop-in session with Shekinah Tutors – Tuesday 16 June
Looking to take your next step into learning or employment?
Join us at our upcoming Building Plymouth drop-in session to meet Shekinah tutors and find out more about free training and employability support.
Their team will be on hand to talk you through funded courses, including Level 1 qualifications, and help you understand what options might work best for you. It’s a relaxed, informal session where you can ask questions, get advice, and explore your future plans.

British Forces Resettlement Services (BFRS) Plymouth National Careers Fair – Thursday 18 June
