At Skills Launchpad Plymouth, we’re always working on ways to support your next step, whether that’s building new skills or exploring a change in direction. To make things easy, we’ve pulled together a simple overview of what’s coming up and when.


Monday to Friday

Youth Hub appointments only (for those aged 16 to 24)


  • Our friendly Youth Hub Coordinators are joined by DWP Work Coaches to offer young people pre-booked appointments to discuss their options for skills, training, education, careers and jobs here in Plymouth. To book an appointment, please sign up here.


  • We will also be joined on Wednesdays and Fridays by Hannah from The King’s Trust, who will be available to talk about their latest programmes for 16– to 30-year-olds. These programmes can range from retail and animal care to starting your own business, and more.



Monday (open to anyone 16+), 10am to 3pm

Caring Plymouth Drop-in Session


  • Mondays are our dedicated day for anyone interested in opportunities within the health and social care and childcare sectors. Drop in to meet Jack and explore current vacancies across the city, along with the latest skills and training opportunities available.

 


Tuesday (open to anyone 16+), 10am to 3pm

Building Plymouth Drop-in Session

 

  • Tuesdays are focused on supporting those interested in working in the construction and built environment sectors. Pop in and chat with our coordinator, Gareth, about how to gain the skills and qualifications needed for a career in construction, as well as the latest live vacancies—including apprenticeships.



Wednesday (open to anyone 18+), 10am to 3pm

Welcoming Plymouth Drop-in Session


  • Wednesdays are our dedicated day for anyone interested in opportunities in Plymouth's visitor economy sectors – tourism, hospitality and retail. Drop in to meet with Dan to explore current vacancies in the city, as well as the latest skills and training available.

Launchpad Live - Tuesday 6 October


Looking for your next opportunity or some career inspiration? Launchpad Live brings together leading employers and training providers from across the South West, all under one roof.

 

From interactive activities and practical demonstrations to careers advice and training information, there's plenty to explore. The 3pm to 5pm session is open to the public, and no booking is required.

Health and Social Care Careers Showcase – Friday 16 October


Looking to start, change or progress your career in health and social care? Don't miss our Health and Social Care Careers Showcase, where you'll have the chance to meet more than 20 recruiting employers and adult social care providers, all looking to connect with local talent.


Discover a wide range of opportunities, from healthcare assistants and support workers to nursing, homecare, rehabilitation, catering, domestic and administrative roles. Whether you're exploring the sector for the first time or looking to take the next step in your career, you can also find out about training, apprenticeships and progression pathways.

Access Creative – open day – Saturday 17 October


Access Creative College is hosting its first Open Day of the academic year on Saturday 17 October, offering the perfect opportunity to discover what student life is really like and get inspired early in your application journey.


Take a tour of their industry-standard facilities, meet current students and tutors, explore their creative courses, and find out everything you need to take your next step. Whether you're passionate about music, media, gaming or performance, this is your chance to imagine your future at Access Creative College.

University of Plymouth – Undergraduate on-campus open day – Saturday 17 October

 

Thinking about studying at the University of Plymouth? Attend their undergraduate on-campus Open Day this October and discover more about the courses on offer, student life, and future career opportunities. Arts University Plymouth – open day – Saturday 17 October
