It’s National Careers Week! At Skills Launchpad Plymouth, there’s always something going on to help you take the next step, whether that’s learning new skills or making a change. To save you scrolling through lots of posts, we’ve put together a clear overview of what’s happening and when.

 

Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm

Youth Hub appointments (for those aged 16 to 24)

 

  • Our friendly Youth Hub Coordinators will be joined by DWP Work Coaches every day to offer young people pre-booked appointments to discuss their options for skills, training, education, careers and jobs here in Plymouth.

 

  • They will also be joined on Tuesday by Charlotte from the Virtual School who is offering dedicated support to care leavers, and Hollie from The King's Trust on Wednesday and Friday to explore the latest programmes around hair and beauty, Teams, Enterprise.


Monday (open to anyone 16+), 10am to 3pm

Caring Plymouth Drop-in Session

 

  • Mondays are dedicated to supporting anyone interested in careers in health and social care or childcare. Drop in to meet with Dan and explore apprenticeships, alternative entry routes, live vacancies across the city, and the latest training and skills-development opportunities.


  • This Monday, as part of our sector‑focused support, training providers along with representatives from Big Picture Care Group and Kintota Care will be joining us. Come along to discover a range of career pathways and get tailored guidance to help you take your next steps in health and social care or childcare.


Tuesday (open to anyone 16+), 10am to 3pm

Building Plymouth Drop-in Session

 

  • Tuesdays are dedicated to supporting anyone interested in careers within construction and the built environment. Drop in and chat with our coordinator, Gareth, to learn about the skills and qualifications you’ll need, explore apprenticeships, and discover the latest live vacancies across the sector.

 

  • This Tuesday, as part of National Careers Week, Clarion Housing will be joining the Building Plymouth team to showcase the wide range of construction training and career pathways available in the city. Get personalised advice on skills development, training options, and opportunities across construction and the built environment.

 

  • Aged 19+? Ian from the National Careers Service is also available on Tuesdays providing pre-booked appointments for help with developing CVs, cover letters, and general careers advice.

 

Friday (open to anyone 16+), 10am to 3pm

Welcoming Plymouth Drop-in Session

 

  • Fridays are dedicated to anyone interested in exploring opportunities within Plymouth’s visitor economy — including hospitality, retail, and tourism. Drop in to meet with Rhianne and discover apprenticeships, alternative entry routes, and current vacancies across the city’s vibrant sectors.


  • This Friday, come and meet professionals working in hospitality, retail, and tourism to learn about skills, training, and the latest career opportunities available.
