At Skills Launchpad Plymouth, we’re always working on ways to support your next step, whether that’s building new skills or exploring a change in direction. To make things easy, we’ve pulled together a simple overview of what’s coming up and when.
Monday to Friday
Youth Hub appointments only (for those aged 16 to 24)
Our friendly Youth Hub Coordinators are joined by DWP Work Coaches to offer young people pre-booked appointments to discuss their options for skills, training, education, careers and jobs here in Plymouth. To book an appointment, please sign up here.
We will also be joined on Wednesdays and Fridays by Hannah from The King’s Trust, who will be available to talk about their latest programmes for 16– to 30-year-olds. These programmes can range from retail and animal care to starting your own business, and more.

Caring Plymouth Drop-in Session
Mondays are our dedicated day for anyone interested in opportunities within the health and social care and childcare sectors. Drop in to meet Dan and explore current vacancies across the city, along with the latest skills and training opportunities available.
Tuesday (open to anyone 16+), 10am to 3pm
Building Plymouth Drop-in Session
Tuesdays are focused on supporting those interested in working in the construction and built environment sectors. Pop in and chat with our coordinator, Gareth, about how to gain the skills and qualifications needed for a career in construction, as well as the latest live vacancies—including apprenticeships.
This Tuesday, The Plym Group will be joining our Building Plymouth team for a drop-in session exploring opportunities in bricklaying, stonemasonry and scaffolding. Whether you're considering a career in construction, looking to develop new skills, or exploring your next career step, this is a great opportunity to learn about specialist trades, gain industry insight, and discover potential routes into employment.
Aged 19+? Ian from the National Careers Service is also available on Tuesdays providing pre-booked appointments for help with developing CVs, cover letters, and general careers advice.
Wednesday (open to anyone 18+), 10am to 3pm
Welcoming Plymouth Drop-in Session
Wednesdays are our dedicated day for anyone interested in opportunities in Plymouth's visitor economy sectors – tourism, hospitality and retail. Drop in to meet with Rhianne to explore current vacancies in the city, as well as the latest skills and training available.

City College Plymouth drop-in and advice session - Friday 21 August
Unsure what to do after your GCSE results? Join City College Plymouth's Drop-In and Advice Session to explore your options. Whether you're considering T Levels, vocational courses, Apprenticeships or higher education, their friendly team will be on hand to offer guidance.
You'll have the opportunity to speak with experienced staff, get help choosing the right course, learn about entry requirements, and find out more about the support available, including financial and wellbeing services.

Building Plymouth and AECOM drop-in session – Tuesday 25 August
Interested in shaping the places where we live, work and travel? Join Building Plymouth's upcoming jobs and training drop-in session and meet AECOM, a global infrastructure and engineering consultancy that works across transportation, buildings, water, environment and energy projects.
AECOM's team will be available to discuss the wide range of careers available within the built environment sector, including engineering, design, project management and environmental services. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the industry, explore career pathways and find out about opportunities for students, graduates and those considering a career change.

Greenlight Construction Apprenticeship Open Day – Friday 28 August
Take a closer look at a career in construction at Greenlight's Construction Apprenticeship Open Day. Whether you're exploring your options after school or considering a new direction, this event will help you learn more about apprenticeships and training opportunities in the industry.
Visitors can tour the facilities, meet tutors, discover apprenticeship pathways, and find out how they can gain valuable skills while earning a wage.
