Skills Launchpad Plymouth celebrated at the LGC Awards for delivering better outcomes for young people

We’re delighted that Skills Launchpad Plymouth was celebrated as a national finalist at the prestigious 2025 Local Government Chronicle Awards (LGC) in the Innovation category recognising our evolving commitment to improving the lives of young people across the city.

Amongst the 900+ national nominations, the judging panel commended our work as excellent practice and person-based, highlighting the strength of the core coordination for the team, one-stop shop approach, and the clear, positive impact we’re making. They noted that Skills Launchpad Plymouth “is certainly a best-in-class project with tons of passion and commitment” - a testament to the dedication of everyone involved.

This recognition reflects the incredible efforts of our team and the strength of our city-wide partnership. Together, we’ve built a single skills system that puts young people at the centre, ensuring they receive the right support, at the right time, from the right people.
