Skills Launchpad Plymouth and Barclays to deliver free financial skills workshops in Plymouth

Residents aged 16 and over are being invited to attend a free financial skills workshop hosted in partnership with Barclays Bank. The event aims to strengthen financial understanding and confidence among young people and adults across Plymouth. 

The workshops will cover key areas of personal finance, including budgeting, saving, credit scores, scam awareness, and self-employment planning. With expert guidance from Barclays professionals, attendees will receive practical, real-world advice designed to help them manage money more effectively and build long-term financial stability. 

What the Workshops Offer 

The two-session programme is open to two age groups: 

• Young people aged 16–24 

• Adults aged 25 and over 

  
  

Participants will have the opportunity to learn how to create realistic budgets, set and achieve savings goals, understand how credit scores work, and identify common scams and fraud tactics. The sessions will also introduce the basics of self-employment, helping attendees explore potential business ideas and understand the financial requirements involved.

Event Details 

The workshops will be held in Plymouth over two sessions. Attendance is free, but spaces are limited, and participants are encouraged to book early. 

When: Wednesday 25 January 

• Adult Hub (aged 25+): 12noon to 1.30pm 

• Youth Hub (aged 16 – 24): 2pm to 3.30pm 

Where: Barclays Bank, Plymouth city centre
