More than 20 local employers will be showcasing the job opportunities currently on offer in the health and social care sectors in Plymouth.
The free event takes place tomorrow, Friday 4 October, from 10am to 4pm at the Duke of Cornwall Hotel.
The event is organised by Caring Plymouth, a Plymouth City Council-led sector skills partnership bringing together adult social care providers, University Hospital Plymouth NHS Trust, Livewell Southwest and other key partners including training providers.
The partnership aims to tackle the system’s workforce challenges including recruitment, retention and training.
The Health and Social Care Careers Showcase is suitable for all experience levels, including those looking to get started in the sector or anyone seeking training and development opportunities to help reach the next level.
Councillor Mary Aspinall, Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Social Care said: “The health and social care sector has a high number of vacancies and it’s absolutely vital that we support the development of a strong workforce to help fill these vacancies so that we can support the health and wellbeing of our residents. Having worked in healthcare myself, I know just how rewarding it can be and this event offers a great opportunity for people to learn more about the careers available in Plymouth.”
