On Saturday 3 July, young people in Plymouth are taking the lead in shaping their futures with the launch of the city’s first ever Youth-Led Young People’s Work Fair, from 11am to 4pm at The Plot, 80–84 Union Street, Stonehouse, PL1 3EZ.

This pioneering event, designed and driven by young people, is aimed at those who have just completed their GCSEs or are exploring their next steps into work, training, or further education. With strong support from local organisations, the event offers a unique opportunity for young people to connect with services and employers in a space created by and for them.

The day will feature:

  • Free budgeting workshops delivered by Citizens Advice Plymouth

  • Career and training advice from the Skills Launchpad Plymouth Youth Team

  • A special film screening and recruitment opportunity from Connecting Youth CIC

  • Insights into careers in policing from Devon & Cornwall Police

  • Support for neurodiverse young people from Neudice

  • Emotional and practical support from The Zone Plymouth, covering housing, mental health, and more

This event is a celebration of youth voice and collaboration, it’s about empowering young people to take charge of their futures, with the full backing of the Plymouth community.

The idea for the event was sparked by Dom from The Plot, whose vision and initiative brought together a network of organisations committed to supporting Plymouth’s youth.

Admission is free, and all young people are encouraged to attend, explore opportunities, and get inspired.
