Plymouth residents looking to pivot careers or

invest in themselves are invited to the OCSW Adult

Education and Training Open Day on Saturday, January 31st. The event will run from 10.30 am to 1.00 pm at Cobourg House on Mayflower Street (PL1 1QX).

In an evolving job market, the "invest in yourself" mantra has never been more relevant. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to meet one-on-one with curriculum leads, expert tutors, and dedicated learning advisors. Whether you are looking to reskill for a new industry or upskill to climb the ladder in your current field, the OCSW team is prepared to guide you toward the right qualifications.

The event serves as a "one-stop shop" for career progression. Beyond the classroom, the Skills Launchpad and Connect to Work teams will be on-site alongside a powerhouse line-up of partners. Representatives from Community Builders, the National Careers Service, Citizens Advice, and

Plymouth Community Homes—along with various

local employers—will be available to offer holistic

support, from financial guidance to direct job

opportunities.

The aim of the day is to show the public exactly what support is available to them. It’s about more than just a course; it’s about a career path!

Refreshments will be provided throughout the morning.

On Course South West Hosts Adult Education and Training Open Day — always great to see opportunities like this across the United Kingdom, helping people explore new skills and learning paths. I like when events are clear, accessible, and easy to plan for. These are the kinds of updates I often save while casually browsing, just to revisit later. My bookmarks usually end up being a mix of education news, local events, and unexpected finds like harry casino that caught my eye in a completely different context.

Overall, a useful and well-timed announcement.
