January is nearly over. How did that happen? If some of your resolutions are broken already, fear not! Learning a new skill doesn't need to be one of them. At Skills Launchpad Plymouth, there is plenty going on, so to save you scrolling through too many posts, here's a break down of what's on and when next week.
Tuesday (open to anyone 16+)
Sector Drop-in Sessions, 10am to 3pm: For anyone interested in the construction and built environment or the health and care sectors, drop-in to Skills Launchpad Plymouth to find out more information about jobs, apprenticeships or further study. Our dedicated coordinators will be on hand to offer advice and support. You will be able to discuss everything from ideas that you have for your future, to your cv and general advice and guidance about your next steps.
Health and Social Care Jobs and Training Drop-in 11am to 2pm: There is no better time to work in health and care. With so many vacancies and training opportunities, this event is the perfect chance to learn more about the industry. You will be able to meet with employers who are actively recruiting! Pop along and chat to Homelife Carers and Inspiring On, get connected with jobs in care homes, and also explore training pathways to take your next steps. Our experienced health and care coordinators will also be on hand to offer advice and guidance and answer any questions you have about your future.
Aged 19+? The National Careers Service offer pre-booked appointments for help with developing CVs, cover letters, and general careers advice.
Wednesday (Youth Hub delivery for 16 to 24-year-olds).
1:1 Youth Hub appointments, 10am to 3pm with Rhi
Our Youth Hub Work Coaches from the Jobcentre will be meeting people for pre-booked appointments
Hollie from the Prince's Trust will be available to discuss upcoming opportunities
Thursday (Youth Hub delivery for 16 to 24-year-olds)
Find Your Future drop-in at Skills Launchpad Plymouth: Our Youth Hub Coordinators Rhi and Abi, have cleared their diaries between 12-3pm to support any care experienced young people in need of a chat and some direction. There’s no pressure to sign up to anything. It’s just a chat, and you can bring a friend or your PA. Pop in and give it a try.
Chris from CSW will be meeting people for pre-booked appointments to offer information, advice and guidance on planning your future, next steps and education to suit you.
