Next week at Skills Launchpad Plymouth - w/c 17 June

Here at Skills Launchpad Plymouth, we have another busy week ahead, to help support you in your journey to find skills, training and employment.

To save you scrolling through too many posts, here's a breakdown of what's on and when.


Monday  (open to anyone 16+)

  • Sector Drop-in Sessions, 10am to 2pm:

  • Mondays are our dedicated day for anyone interested in health and social care, or the hospitality, retail and tourism sectors. Drop in and chat to our coordinators Jack and James to find out more. You can learn more about the sectors themselves, and how you can gain skills and qualifications to support your work journey. With a huge variety of job roles available in our city, this is the perfect way to get started!

Tuesday  (open to anyone 16+)

  • Sector Drop-in Sessions, 10am to 2pm: Tuesdays are focussed on those interested in the construction and built environment, and the green economy. This is a great chance to talk to our coordinators Morven and Jas about skills and training opportunities in our area. They will be on hand to discuss everything, from the type of jobs available within the sectors, to skills and training opportunities available.

  • Aged 19+? The National Careers Service offer pre-booked appointments for help with developing CVs, cover letters, and general careers advice.

Wednesday (Youth Hub delivery for 16 to 24-year-olds)

  • 1:1 Youth Hub appointments, 10am to 2pm with our Coordinator Rhianne. She will be on hand to chat to you about skills, training, education and jobs. They are also a fountain of knowledge on apprenticeships and supported internships!

  • Our Youth Hub Work Coaches from the Jobcentre will be meeting people for pre-booked appointments

  • Hollie from the Prince's Trust will be available to discuss upcoming opportunities.

Thursday (Youth Hub delivery for 16 to 24-year-olds)

  • Find Your Future, 12pm to 2pm

  • Our Youth Hub Coordinators Rhi and Abi, have cleared their diaries between 12-2pm to support any care experienced young people in need of a chat and some direction. There’s no pressure to sign up to anything. It’s just a chat, and you can bring a friend or your PA. Pop in and give it a try.

University of Plymouth - Undergraduate On Campus Open Day - 9am to 3pm

The University Open Days are designed to give you a taste of Plymouth, and give you the chance to connect with passionate staff, and see the variety of courses on offer.

What can you expect?:

  • Welcome talks to introduce you to life at Plymouth

  • Finance talks to help you understand student loans and managing money at university

  • Subject-specific talks to find out more about your course and how you'll learn at university

  • Drop-in sessions where you can see the amazing Wave Tank in the Marine Building, or go for a tour around the student village and student accommodation

  • Application advice sessions for non-standard qualifications from the experts.

Arts University Plymouth - Undergraduate and Post Graduate Open Day - 10am to 2pm

Find out what it’s like to study at Arts University Plymouth – the no.1 Arts University for Student Satisfaction!

Join Arts University Plymouth to explore our campus, visit nearby affordable student accommodation and speak with academics and course leaders. You will even have the chance to hop on a bus and have a tour of the city!

This Open Day will give you a feel for studying in Plymouth, and the chance to see the variety of creative courses on offer.

Caring Plymouth and Building Plymouth at Pride, 12 to 8pm

Plymouth pride is set to be a fantastic day! With The Rainbow Village, the Young Adults Area, Safe Space, Sports Area and more, you are in for a great day out!

Aswell as all of the fabulous entertainment, you can pop along and see Caring Plymouth and Building Plymouth for all inclusive support around skills, training, education and careers.
