Another busy week ahead at Skills Launchpad Plymouth, to help support you in your journey to find skills, training and employment!

Monday (open to anyone 16+)
Sector Drop-in Sessions, 10am to 2pm:
Mondays are our dedicated day for anyone interested in health and social care, or the hospitality, retail and tourism sectors. We are thrilled to be expanding our Monday sector offer to also include childcare! Drop in and chat to our experienced coordinators to find out more. You can learn more about the sectors themselves, and how you can gain skills and qualifications to support your work journey. With a huge variety of job roles available in our city, this is the perfect way to get started!
Tuesday (open to anyone 16+)
Sector Drop-in Sessions, 10am to 2pm: Tuesdays are focussed on those interested in the construction and built environment, and the green economy. This is a great chance to talk to our coordinators Morven and Jas about skills and training opportunities in our area. They will be on hand to discuss everything, from the type of jobs available within the sectors, to skills and training opportunities available.
Aged 19+? The National Careers Service offer pre-booked appointments for help with developing CVs, cover letters, and general careers advice. Wednesday (Youth Hub delivery for 16 to 24-year-olds)
Caring Jobs for Care Leavers, 1pm to 2pm: This monthly Caring Plymouth information session is a fantastic opportunity for you to find out about the great paid opportunities in the health and social care sector. Join Jack from Caring Plymouth, as well as colleagues from the Job Centre, and our Youth Hub team to explore Livewell Southwest’s care leaver opportunities and more. No need to book, just drop in on the first Wednesday of the month.
1:1 Youth Hub appointments, 10am to 2pm with our Coordinator Rhianne. She will be on hand to chat to you about skills, training, education and jobs. They are also a fountain of knowledge on apprenticeships and supported internships!
Our Youth Hub Work Coaches from the Jobcentre will be meeting people for pre-booked appointments
Hollie from the Prince's Trust will be available to discuss upcoming opportunities.
Thursday ( Youth Hub delivery for 16 to 24-year-olds)
Find Your Future, 12pm to 2pm
Our Youth Hub Coordinators Rhi and Abi, have cleared their diaries between 12-2pm to support any care experienced young people in need of a chat and some direction. There’s no pressure to sign up to anything. It’s just a chat, and you can bring a friend or your PA. Pop in and give it a try.

Mission Mammoth - Monday 1 to Friday 5 July
It's that time again! Mission Mammoth is upon us! Hosted at The Box and Arts University Plymouth, Mission Mammoth STEAMFest is designed to offer the children an exciting experience of hands-on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) activities. This week long programme aims to inspire the future generation, raise the children’s aspirations and greatly improve their skills and passion for STEAM subjects. Look out for social media posts showing what the children have been up to!
Applying to Arts University Plymouth - Online
Monday 21 June, 3pm to 4pm
If you, or someone you know are looking to study a creative degree, we recommend logging on to the online Applying to Arts University Plymouth Drop-in event.
You can get advice from the admissions team on the application process, student finance, and how to submit your portfolio. Their knowledgeable staff will be waiting on Google Meet to answer any questions you might have about UCAS, entry requirements, interviews and more! All over video or live chat.

University of Plymouth – Online talks
Trying to find the right course for you and learn about student life can sometimes be tricky. The University of Plymouth’s outreach team has several electronic resources and online talks that you can dip into at a time to suit you. The talks cover a wide range of topics giving an insight into Higher Education, including finance, student budgeting and choosing a course.

Greenlight Apprenticeship Open Day
If you've ever wondered what it's like to pick up tools and try a trade in the construction sector, then this is the perfect event for you! Come along to experience live demonstrations from different trades, meet the Trainers who can offer advice and guidance and answer any questions you may have.
Thinking about an apprenticeship? This event offers an opportunity to find out how apprenticeships work and what your next steps can be. There will also be free parking and refreshments available.
