New 'Get into Security' programme from The King's Trust and City Security

We’re excited to share details of an upcoming opportunity from The King’s Trust, in partnership with City Security. The Get into Security programme is designed to help young people take their first steps into the security industry.
About the Programme
The Get into Security programme offers hands-on training, real industry experience, and tailored employability support – all aimed at helping young people move into secure, long-term employment in the security sector.
Delivered by The King’s Trust, the programme is open to eligible young people and is free to attend.
What Participants Can Expect
On-the-job experience: Young people will take part in a live placement, working alongside experienced professionals in the security field.
Security skills training: The course includes practical training in key areas like physical intervention and conflict management.
Recognised qualifications: Participants will receive SIA training and support applying for their door supervisor licence, with the potential to also earn a First Aid at Work qualification.
Employability support: With help from King’s Trust staff, participants will refine their CVs, develop strong job applications, and build interview confidence.
Expert mentorship: Guidance is provided throughout by careers advisers and security industry experts.
Personal Development: The programme is also a fantastic way to build confidence and assess whether a career in security is the right fit.

Eligibility Criteria
To take part, young people must have:
Photo ID
The right to work in the UK
Willingness to undergo a DBS check
