Are you interested in making a difference to the life of a young person? Do you feel you could share advice and knowledge from your experiences to support them in their journey?
Have you considered becoming a mentor?
The My Future mentoring programme with YMCA Plymouth, sees mentors (adults who kindly volunteer their time) matched with young people aged 16 to 24-year-olds (mentees). Both mentee and mentor will meet monthly to discuss various topics, ranging from careers and aspirations, to life skills and employability, and together, they will work towards an agreed goal(s).
If you think this could be a good opportunity for you and support your development (whether you are currently employed or not), please email liz.bell@ymcaplymouth.org.uk to find out more.
To support mentors throughout the process, YMCA's Mentor Coordinator, Liz, is on hand. In addition to providing access to resources and a closed LinkedIn group, Liz hosts free optional training sessions for new and existing mentors. The next sessions will be taking place during September and into October for those interested, so why not find out more and get booked in?!
