Kickstart a career in Public Services with free course at City College Plymouth

City College Plymouth is inviting aspiring public service professionals (aged 19+) to enrol on a free two-week pre-employment course designed to prepare individuals for rewarding careers in sectors such as the Police, Prison Service, and Ministry of Defence Civil Service.

Course Highlights:

• Personal and Social Development: Boosting confidence and communication skills.

• Conflict Management Training: Practical strategies for handling challenging situations.

• Employer Insights: Talks from professionals in the public sector sharing tips on recruitment processes and career progression.

• Mock Interviews: Participants will engage in simulated interviews with public sector employers to practice and refine their interview skills.

• Experienced Tutor Support: Guidance from a tutor with a background in public services to assist participants throughout the course. 

Course Details:

• Duration: Monday 23 June to Friday 4 July 2025 

• Induction morning: Monday 16 June, 9.30am to 12.30pm

• Schedule:  9.30am to 2.30pm each day (with breaks)

• Location: City College Plymouth, Kings Road
