Join us for our bumper Military Tuesday

Next week we have a bumper Military Tuesday at Skills Launchpad Plymouth on the first floor of Barclays in the city centre.

Any local service leavers, veterans, those serving and their families - as well as anyone thinking about starting their military career is invited to join us as we host Lee from the Forces Employment Charity, James from City College Plymouth's Public Service team, Taff from OPSAT UK Ltd, Sian from The Naval Families Federation, as well as our own Launchpad Coordinators.

Who's who?

The Forces Employment Charity can support with one-to-one advice and guidance, employability and employment support including bespoke career and training diagnostics, CV and application assistance, interview techniques, coaching and mentoring, links to local business and an extensive database of nationwide employers.

OPSAT UK Ltd is a company that was set up to give back to serving, retired and injured servicemen and women. As an organisation, they offer courses and training for people who are interested in working within the security industry. Their courses cover all aspects of security, from key holding to alarm response and close protection.

This is a free drop-in session where you will be able to speak with Gordan “Taff” Howells. Gordan is Head of Training and has 23 years of experience in the Royal Navy. If you are interested in the security industry or would like to find out more information regarding training, or jobs in this sector, this session is a great chance to speak to someone who can guide you in the right direction.

City College Plymouth's Public Services team can support anyone looking to start a career in the services, or those looking to utilise their training credits/retrain after leaving. With hundreds of courses, both full and part-time available, taught by tutors that have hands-on experience in the industry that they are teaching, come and chat to James about the opportunities on offer.

The Naval Families Federation is also with us this week to support anyone looking for any military families looking for advice. Whether you need help with schools, where you live or work, your finances, your future, a posting overseas, relationships or your health, The Naval Families Federation is focused on you! With a focus on signposting and advocacy for families, Sian has a wealth of information and advice so drop in and see her.
