Skills Launchpad Plymouth, in partnership with Plymouth Manufacturers’ Group (PMG), is delivering a two-day Industry Insight Experience: Advanced manufacturing on 24 and 25 February 2026, offering HM Armed Forces service leavers, working-age veterans, and reservists a unique opportunity to explore civilian careers within the manufacturing sector.
The event has been designed to create meaningful, employer-focused opportunities that support the transition from military to civilian employment. Participants will gain behind-the-scenes access to local manufacturing businesses, meet employers directly, and develop a clearer understanding of the wide range of roles available across the sector.
The experience will showcase opportunities spanning engineering, production, logistics, quality assurance, and more. Attendees will tour manufacturing facilities, speak with employers about real job opportunities, and explore how their military skills and experience can be transferred into manufacturing roles.
By placing working-age veterans and service leavers directly in front of employers, the programme aims to build strong professional relationships, increase awareness of local job opportunities, and support long-term employment outcomes.
This Industry Insight Experience is ideal for those with engineering experience, as well as individuals who are hands-on, technically skilled, or strategically minded and considering their next career step.
