Emma Hewitt, Skills Lead at Plymouth City Council, has been named a finalist in tonight’s 2025 Devon Business Awards, shortlisted for the prestigious Steve Whiteway Award. This category recognises outstanding individuals who embody the spirit of community dedication, selflessness, and leadership - values Steve Whiteway championed throughout his life.
The Devon Business Awards, will honour exceptional individuals and organisations making a significant impact across the county. Emma’s place as a finalist is the latest in a growing list of accolades recognising her outstanding leadership, innovation, and commitment to Plymouth’s skills agenda and wider community.
Reflecting on being shortlisted for the Steve Whiteway Award, Emma said: "I am completely blown away by this recognition. To be shortlisted for an award that celebrates community contribution means the world to me. Steve Whiteway's legacy of service and impact is something I've always admired and to be considered in the same light is truly humbling,” said Emma.
