Get Started in the Marine Environment with The King’s Trust

Are you aged 16 to 30 and curious about exploring the marine environment? This is your chance to step outside, try something new, and discover opportunities in the world of marine activities and conservation.

The King’s Trust Get Started in Marine Environment programme is an exciting 5-day experience designed for young people with an interest in the outdoors, water sports, and protecting our coastlines. You’ll gain hands-on experience, build confidence, and learn directly from industry experts in a fun and supportive setting.

What You’ll Experience

Throughout the programme, you will:

• Try exciting water sports, including paddleboarding and kayaking.

• Explore coastal ecosystems by discovering the fascinating world of rockpools during guided rambles.

• Make a positive impact by taking part in conservation work, including beach cleans and “paddle for plastics” activities.

• Learn about local marine life and conservation efforts, including a behind-the-scenes look at Plymouth Sound National Marine Park.

• Develop valuable skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

This programme is perfect for anyone looking to boost their confidence, connect with nature, and explore potential career paths in the marine and environmental sector. You’ll meet new people, learn new skills, and gain unforgettable experiences along the way.

Eligibility criteria: Aged 16 to 30. Not in full time education or employment.
