Get into Health and Social Care with the Prince's Trust

If you are aged 18-30 and not in education, training or employment and looking for an alternative route into healthcare, the Prince's Trust may have the perfect opportunity for you.

Working in partnership with Paragon Skills, they are hosting a FREE three-week training course, that you can access online from the comfort of your own home and will help you start a career in healthcare.

During this programme, you will explore topics that you would come across if you trained as a Healthcare Assistant, including duty of care, equality diversity and inclusion, basic life support, safeguarding, mental health, dementia and learning disabilities.

Employability sessions are also part of the programme, as is support and guidance with applications and interviews, and the chance to take part in Q&A sessions with experienced healthcare professionals.

Interested? Great! Here are some key dates:

  • Taster day: Wednesday 20 April

  • Programme dates: Monday 25 April - Friday 13 May

  • Location: Online using Microsoft Teams

Upon completing the course, participants will have the chance to interview for live vacancies with large healthcare employers in the south west. You will also be able to access a financial award of up to £500 as well as a professional mentor via the Prince's Trust for up to six months!
