Forest Rising Summer Programme

Ready to make a difference this summer? 

 

Are you aged 16–28? Interested in the conservation industry and keen to gain new skills and knowledge? Applications are now open for Summer Forest Rising – a FREE programme for young people passionate about nature, climate action, and creating greener places for people and wildlife.

 

Through a series of hands-on summer workshops at Poole Farm, you’ll explore what makes a Community Forest. Sessions run from Friday 24 July to Friday 28 August.


Workshops include:

 

  • Community tree nurseries and seeds

  • Tree identification and planting

  • Site surveying, soil and design

  • Tree aftercare

  • Woodland management and tools

  • Ancient woodlands and veteran trees

 

What will you gain?

 

  • Learn from experienced conservationists

  • Gain practical environmental work experience

  • Help design and deliver tree-planting projects

  • Explore careers in Plymouth's green industry

  • Earn a digital badge for your CV

  • Enjoy refreshments and connect with like-minded young people
