Are you aged 16 - 28? Interested in the conservation industry and like the idea of gaining more skills and knowledge? There is still time to join this summers Forest Rising Programme!


Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest are excited to launch the first-ever summer holidays Forest Rising Program with the Poole Farm team — it’s FREE for young people who want to get involved in conservation and tree care.


This series of workshops is designed by the Forest Rising Youth Forum and offers you a unique opportunity to gain practical experience, learn from expert conservationists, and even design your own tree planting projects! Dates run from 24 July to 28 August.


What can you expect from the programme?


  • Introduction to Community Tree Nursery and Seeds

  • Site Surveying and Design

  • Tool Handling and Tree IDing

  • Tree Aftercare

  • Woodland Management

  • Ancient Woodlands and Veteran Trees

  • Hands-on conservation work experience
