Boost your confidence and stand out to employers by joining Ian from the National Careers Service for an engaging digital employability workshop, open to anyone aged 19+.


This session is designed to help you better understand today’s recruitment process. You’ll learn how employers really recruit, how to strengthen your CV and job applications, how AI and applicant tracking systems (ATS) filter candidates, and how to present your skills confidently in interviews. You’ll also be introduced to free digital tools and resources you can continue using after the session to support your job search.


During the session, you will cover:

  • How to tailor application processes to suit you

  • The do’s and don’ts of job applications

  • Using job boards and recruitment agencies effectively

  • What makes an effective CV, including format, structure, and tailoring

  • Understanding AI and ATS tracking and how to manage it

  • Writing strong cover letters, including templates and key requirements

  • Improving your chances of success with online application forms

  • Interview techniques, including the STAR method

  • How the National Careers Service website can support you

  • Using Abintegro for interview preparation and AI‑supported resources

  • The importance of digital training and continuous professional development (CPD)


When: Tuesday 5 May

Time: 10am to 12pm

Where: Skills Launchpad Plymouth, First Floor, Cobourg House, Mayflower Street
