Celebrating National Recognition at the MJ Awards!

We’re incredibly proud to share that Plymouth City Council's Skills Launchpad Plymouth was celebrated last week as a finalist at the 2025 MJ Awards in the category of Innovation in Children’s and Adults’ Services.

The prestigious event, held in London, celebrated the very best in local government - and we were honoured to stand alongside so many inspiring and impactful projects from across the country.

Our nomination focused on the ongoing innovation through the Youth Hub, which has been recognised for its collaborative approach to tackling youth unemployment in Plymouth. The judges commended the way we bring together partners across the city to support young people in overcoming barriers and accessing meaningful opportunities in education, employment or training.

"Being among the national finalists is a huge honour and a celebration of everything we’ve achieved together here in Plymouth," said Jo Lacy, Skills Launchpad Manager. "It reflects the passion and commitment of our team, our partners, and most importantly, the young people who engage with us."

While this recognition particularly highlighted the worth through the Youth Hub, it also speaks to the broader impact of Skills Launchpad Plymouth, which supports residents of all ages with skills, training, careers, and job opportunities. This achievement celebrates not just innovation, but the power of community collaboration, local pride, and the belief that everyone deserves the chance to thrive.
