Frankie, 40 signed up to Skills Launchpad Plymouth as he really wanted to work in plumbing. He had all of the relevant qualifications, but lacked the experience, and wasn’t sure of the best approach. Following careers advice from City College Plymouth, he was referred to Skills Launchpad Plymouth for advice and support on finding the best way into the industry.
Spending time with James, our Co-ordinator, it became clear that Frankie had some great work experience from an engineering setting, and was hugely motivated for work.
Following advice from James, Frankie engaged with National Careers Service, Building Plymouth and Sherford Skills Training Scheme. Within one week, Frankie was offered two jobs, and he got a test date booked to obtain his CSCS card.
