Caring Plymouth January Drop-In Sessions

Are you thinking about a career in health and social care or early years? There has never been a better time to explore the wide range of jobs and training opportunities available within this growth sector. 

 

This month, Caring Plymouth is hosting a series of Health and Social Care and Early Years Drop-in Sessions. These events are a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the industry, meet employers, and discover the roles currently available in the area.  

 

Monday 5 January – Skill your way into care, skills and training workshop 

 

  • Our health and social care coordinators will be joined by local training providers to showcase training pathways within the sector. 

 

Monday 12 January – Careers in Early Years 

 

  • This session will highlight career opportunities in childcare, early years education, and apprenticeships. We’re also pleased to welcome Sarah Cotter from PCC Early Years, who will share expert insights into childminding and the wider childcare sector. 

 

Monday 19 January - Making care your career, employability workshop 

 

  • This session will focus on building key employability skills, including CV writing and crafting effective cover letters. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore career pathways in health and social care, access well-being support to help you prepare for work, and discover voluntary roles and work preparation opportunities available to you. Supported by National Careers Service and Clarion Futures. 

 

Monday 26 January – Adult social care meet and greet, meet the local workforce 

 

  • In this session, we’ll be joined by the local adult social care workforce and service users to showcase those working and being cared for within adult social care. 

 

Feel free to drop in to any of the sessions – no booking required! 


Where: First Floor, Cobourg House, Mayflower Street 

Time: 11am to 2pm  


You’ll have the chance to connect with our partners such as National Careers Service, PCC Early Years, Clarion Futures and local adult social care employers. Training providers will also be available to help you explore your options. Plus, our Skills Launchpad Plymouth Health and Care Coordinators, Dan and Jack, will be on hand to answer your questions and guide you through the next steps.
