The Forces Employment Charity’s Chief Executive, Alistair Halliday adds:
“Our Pathways into Construction and the Built Environment event offers a real opportunity to explore a massive sector offering such a wide range of careers. We work in partnership with many companies who are actively seeking their next recruits to be from the whole UK Armed Forces.
“Why? Because your skills from military life (that’s families as well as veterans, Service leavers and reservists) translate so well into business. Your creativity, resilience and the ability to handle/manage change (and being able to adapt quickly!) is something to be confident of and use to base your next career on.”
Emma Hewitt, Skills Lead at Plymouth City Council said:
“We are delighted to partner with Forces Employment Charity and help host this important regional pathways event in Plymouth to attract military service leavers, working-age veterans and their families locally and from across the region to consider careers in construction, and to promote potential employment pathways in the city which is facing it’s biggest construction build programme in 25 years.”
