Community and peer support

Feeling isolated, lonely or wanting to connect with others?

Sometimes the first step forward is simply meeting new people, sharing experiences and building confidence. If you've been feeling isolated, disconnected, struggling with your wellbeing, or simply want to meet new people, you're not alone.

On this page you'll find a range of community activities, peer support groups, volunteering opportunities and wellbeing projects available across Plymouth. Whether you're looking for a friendly group, a new hobby, support from people with similar experiences, or simply a safe space to talk, there are lots of ways to connect with others and feel part of your community.

There is no right or wrong place to start. You might prefer a gardening project, creative activity, fitness group, peer support session, volunteering role, or community event. Even small steps can help build confidence, improve wellbeing and create meaningful connections.

Take a look through the opportunities below and find something that feels right for you. Sometimes a new activity, conversation or connection can make a bigger difference than you might expect.
