Next week at Skills Launchpad Plymouth - w/c 27 November

There's lots going on at Skills Launchpad Plymouth at the moment, so to save you scrolling through too many posts, here's a break down of what's on and when next week.


Tuesday (open to anyone 16+)

  • Sector Drop-in Sessions, 10am to 3pm: For anyone interested in the construction and built environment or the health and care sectors, drop-in to Skills Launchpad Plymouth to find out more information about jobs, apprenticeships or further study. Our dedicated coordinators will be on hand to offer advice and support. You will be able to discuss everything from ideas that you have for your future, to your cv and general interview tips.

  • Caring Plymouth - Health and Care Jobs and Training Drop-in, 11am-2pm: Caring Plymouth are holding a Health and Care Jobs and Training Drop in. The perfect chance to pop in and learn more about the industry and the opportunities that are currently available in the area. This will be a great chance to meet with recruiting employers, including Homelife carers, Inspiring On and Next Generation. There will also be training providers on hand for you to explore your options, and you will be able to meet our Skills Launchpad Plymouth Health and Care Coordinators Jack and Lauren. They will be able to support you with any questions that you may have about the industry and how it works.

  • Aged 19+? The National Careers Service offer pre-booked appointments for help with developing CVs, cover letters, and general careers advice.

Wednesday (Youth Hub delivery for 16 to 24-year-olds)

  • 1:1 Youth Hub appointments, 10am to 3pm with Rhi

  • Our Youth Hub Work Coaches from the Jobcentre will be meeting people for pre-booked appointments

  • Hollie from the Prince's Trust will be available to discuss upcoming opportunities

Thursday (Youth Hub delivery for 16 to 24-year-olds)

  • Find Your Future drop-in at Skills Launchpad Plymouth: Our Youth Hub Coordinators Rhi and Abi, have cleared their diaries between 12-3pm to support any care experienced young people in need of a chat and some direction. There’s no pressure to sign up to anything. It’s just a chat, and you can bring a friend or your PA. Pop in and give it a try.

  • Chris from CSW will be meeting people for pre-booked appointments to offer information, advice and guidance on planning your future, next steps and education to suit you.

Building Plymouth On Tour: In addition to these activities taking place on the first floor of Barclays, our Construction Coordinator James is out and taking Building Plymouth on tour at the Four Greens Wellbeing Hub. Come along between 9am and 1pm for a chat about all things construction!

Plymouth Marjon University Open Day

Plymouth Marjon University was voted top university in England for student satisfaction in 2021, with 95% of students finding employment, or moving into further study within six months of graduating.


The Open Day will give prospective students the chance to discover what student life is really like. This will be the perfect opportunity for you to learn about available courses, meet lecturers, take a tour of the campus and chat with students about university life. You will also get to explore the facilities and accommodation.
