LAUNCHED: Zoe's Skills Launchpad Plymouth Journey

When Zoe signed up with Skills Launchpad Plymouth, she showed a real determination and passion to care for others.

It was clear from our first meeting that she had a huge interest in the Health and Care sector, but wasn’t sure on the best way to gain the right skills or experience.

Zoe was already a learner with On Course Southwest and was in part time employment as a cleaner when we met her. After spending time with Jack, Our Health and Care Co-ordinator, Zoe completed an action plan and was able to discuss her previous work, and her transferable skills.

Jack signposted Zoe to Ambito Care and Support, where she is now a proud volunteer in Plymouth City Centre, supporting adults with learning disabilities.

Most recently, Zoe has been nominated, and won our Health and Care member of the year award, at our very own Skills Launched Awards.

Here’s what Zoe shared:

"I am very thrilled to receive this award, as it was so unexpected"

"I would like to thank everybody for all the help and support given to me. It has really boosted my confidence and self worth again "

"Thank you very much to Jack from Skills Launchpad Plymouth for believing in me and nominating me. I would also like to thank Lisa Grant from On Course South West for introducing me to Jack initially."

"I really enjoy being at Ambito"
