On Course South West and Smart Skills have joined forces to support Plymouth residents aged 19 and over, to improve their confidence and skills in a variety of subjects. To help deliver their mission, they have some fantastic workshops available across the summer.

On Course South West, part of Plymouth City Council is Plymouth’s leading adult education provider. Offering a wide range of courses to support learners reach their goals, they understand that every learner is different and that adult learners need flexibility in order to reach their potential.

The organisation's mission statement is to "promote, provide and support high-quality learning experiences for the benefit of individuals and communities". By offering courses from Carpentry for Beginners, through to Functional Skills, there is something for everybody.

Smart Skills is funded by the European Social Fund and they provide free training for people who are in work, as well as the self-employed and people that are not working and in receipt of benefits. As an organisation, they support local businesses to identify skills gaps in their existing workforce, and they provide the training required to boost productivity, drive growth and improve staff retention.
