With spring upon us, it is the perfect time for fresh starts and learning new skills! Here at Skills Launchpad Plymouth, we have another busy week, to help support you in your journey.
To save you scrolling through too many posts, here's a break down of what's on and when next week.
Monday (open to anyone 16+)
Sector Drop-in Sessions, 10am to 2pm: Mondays are our dedicated day for anyone interested in health and social care, or the hospitality, retail and tourism sectors. Drop in and chat to our coordinators Jack and James to find out more. You can learn more about the sectors themselves, and how you can gain skills and qualifications to support your work journey. With a huge variety of job roles available in our city, this is the perfect way to get started!
Tuesday (open to anyone 16+)
Sector Drop-in Sessions, 10am to 2pm: Tuesdays are focussed on those interested in the construction and built environment, and the green economy. This is a great chance to talk to our coordinators Morven and Jas about skills and training opportunities in our area. They will be on hand to discuss everything, from the type of jobs available within the sectors, to skills and training opportunities available.
Aged 19+? The National Careers Service offer pre-booked appointments for help with developing CVs, cover letters, and general careers advice.
Wednesday (Youth Hub delivery for 16 to 24-year-olds)
Caring Jobs for Care Leavers – information session - 1pm to 2pm
Are you a care leaver who is interested in health and social care? We have the perfect event for you!
Caring Plymouth and Livewell Southwest, will be joining the Youth Hub at Skills Launchpad Plymouth,
to discuss paid opportunities within health and social care.
Our Care Coordinator Jack will also be on hand to talk about everything from skills and training
openings within the sector, to cv and interview advice.
No need to book, just pop in!
Our Youth Hub Coordinators Rhi and Abi will be on hand to offer advice and guidance around your next steps, and talk about all things skills and education!
Our Youth Hub Work Coaches from the Jobcentre will be meeting people for pre-booked appointments
Hollie from the Prince's Trust will be available to discuss upcoming opportunities
Thursday (Youth Hub delivery for 16 to 24-year-olds)
Find Your Future, 12pm to 2pm
Our Youth Hub Coordinators Rhi and Abi, have cleared their diaries between 12-2pm to support any care experienced young people in need of a chat and some direction. There’s no pressure to sign up to anything. It’s just a chat, and you can bring a friend or your PA. Pop in and give it a try.

Honicknowle Pop-up
If you live in or near Honicknowle, why not drop in and speak to chat to our Youth Hub Coordinator Abi about all things skills, training, and jobs at Honicknowle Youth Centre. She will be available with Citizens Advice (who can support with debt advice, applying for benefits, housing support, and everything in between), every first Wednesday of the month. When: Wednesday 1 May Where: Honicknowle Youth Centre Time: 1pm to 3pm
