Next week at Skills Launchpad Plymouth - w/c 15 April

Skills Launchpad Plymouth have lots going on to support you in your search for skills.

With an extra day added to our face to face delivery, our experienced coordinators are on hand to offer advice and guidance on your next steps.

To save you scrolling through too many posts, here's a break down of what's on and when next week.


Monday (open to anyone 16+)

  • Sector Drop-in Sessions, 10am to 2pm: Mondays are our dedicated day for anyone interested in health and social care, or the hospitality, retail and tourism sectors. Drop in and chat to our coordinators Jack and James to find out more. You can learn more about the sectors themselves, and how you can gain skills and qualifications to support your work journey. With a huge variety of job roles available in our city, this is the perfect way to get started!

Tuesday  (open to anyone 16+)

  • Sector Drop-in Sessions, 10am to 2pm: Tuesdays are focussed on those interested in the construction and built environment, and the green economy. This is a great chance to talk to our coordinators Morven and Jas about skills and training opportunities in our area. They will be on hand to discuss everything, from the type of jobs available within the sectors, to skills and training opportunities available.

  • Aged 19+? The National Careers Service offer pre-booked appointments for help with developing CVs, cover letters, and general careers advice.

Wednesday (Youth Hub delivery for 16 to 24-year-olds)

  • 1:1 Youth Hub appointments, 10am to 2pm with Rhi and Abi. They will be on hand to chat to you about skills, training, education and jobs. They are also a fountain of knowledge on apprenticeships and supported internships!

  • Our Youth Hub Work Coaches from the Jobcentre will be meeting people for pre-booked appointments

  • Hollie from the Prince's Trust will be available to discuss upcoming opportunities

Thursday (Youth Hub delivery for 16 to 24-year-olds)

Find Your Future, 12pm to 2pm

  • Our Youth Hub Coordinators Rhi and Abi, have cleared their diaries between 12-2pm to support any care experienced young people in need of a chat and some direction. There’s no pressure to sign up to anything. It’s just a chat, and you can bring a friend or your PA. Pop in and give it a try.

Apprenticeships Open Evening

The team at City College Plymouth invites school-leavers, adults and employers to attend an event focused on all things apprenticeships, with a chance to ask any vital questions about this earn-while-you-learn route.

Get the answers you need to make any final decisions whilst getting your name at the top of the list with their extensive network of employer partners.

Careers Showcase in Health and Social Care

Making Plymouth a great place to grow up and grow old means supporting individuals to live independently, safely, and well. Come along to this event hosted by Caring Plymouth to meet with over 20 recruiting employers including University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, Livewell Southwest and adult social care providers to find out how you can make a real difference in your local community.


Whether you are interested in gaining skills or accessing training and education to join or progress within the sector, all experience levels are welcome and training providers will be available to discuss your options.
